SALVATION

Are You Ready To make God the Boss?

Following Jesus is a decision to find a new way of life. The ultimate decision of a person’s life, in fact. So much greater than a checklist or a set of rules, following Jesus is the ultimate answer to every human being’s greatest heart’s cry.

“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation. The old has gone, the new has come.”  - 2 Corinthians 5:17

how Do we Follow Jesus?

We first recognize Him as our one and only Savior. Jesus said in John 14:6,
“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Our own goodness, or “good works” can never be enough to save us.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is a gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.” said Paul, in Ephesians 2:8-9

Jesus invites us into RElationship, Not Religion.

“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.  Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

Admit we have sinned

We are all born into sin, and sin separates us from God.

Romans 5:12 says,“When Adam sinned, sin entered the world.
Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned.”

Romans 3:23 says, “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.”

Believe Christ Has Saved Us

Our separation from God was never His plan. From the beginning of Creation, He planned to be in fellowship with mankind. Once sin divided us, God formed a rescue plan. That plan came down to earth in the form of Jesus, to give His own life as a sacrifice so that we could be forgiven from our sin. Christ’ redeeming sacrifice on the cross saved us from an eternity of separation from a loving God.

John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.”

“But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” – Romans 5:8

Beginning our New Life in Christ

Commit our lives to Jesus, and let Him be the Boss.

We must accept the gift of salvation from God by committing our lives and our hearts to Jesus. This is an act of recognizing that our own control, our own goodness, our own works are not enough to bring us the wholeness, joy, purpose, peace, or LIFE that our souls crave. It is an act of acceptance that in fellowship with the Lord God, we have a leader, a helper, a way maker, who we can trust to lead and guide us, all the way into eternal life with Him forever.

In Romans 10:9 Paul states, “That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

“For ‘everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’ – Romans 10:13
